Guess who is 5?

Keagan turned 5 in October!  She was thoroughly spoiled between both sets of grandparents and aunt Ashley and Mom and Dad and Easton.
Here she is with her "loot"
We had Grandma, Buddy, and Aunt Ashley over for dinner, then we did presents and cake and ice cream.

Oma and Opa sent her this BEAUTIFUL Cinderella porcelain doll.  She loves it.

Happy birthday, pretty girl!  We love you and couldn't imagine our lives without you!

Guess who is 6?

this adorable boy.  He said it was the best birthday ever.  Phew.  :)

We started out singing (loudly) to an embarrassed boy in the morning.  Then school (we took doughnuts yesterday because his teacher was going to be gone on his actual birthday).  While Easton was at school, Keagan and I baked an awesome cake and wrapped the presents in Christmas paper and packing tape.  (Yep, I'm awesome and super prepared.)  Then we went to go get him from school and go out to lunch with Daddy.  We went to J Dawgs and Easton informed me while eating the hot dog that was as big as he, "This is the BEST hot dog I ever had!"  Then the boys went to a birthday movie, "John Carter."
Then we met my mom and sister at Chuck E Cheese (1st time my kids have been there) and had a little birthday party there.  We had pizza and the kids played games and got silly prizes with their tickets.  They were in heaven.  After that we went back home and had cake and ice cream and opened presents.  Whew.  Busy day for a six year old, but he said it was the best ever.

Keagan was terrified of this ride and after I took this picture almost broke into tears begging to get off.
 Easton loved it.
This one was more Keagan's speed, one that barely moves....
 Back at home, opening presents.
a REAL horseshoe from Oma and Opa.  Oma went to the George Strait Ranch to get it for Easton.
 "This is awesome!"
 Cheese!
He told me the candles were gross.
Love these two crazies.

Happy birthday, Easton.  You are such an awesome kid and a sweet, sweet boy!  We love you so much.

Pink, Pink, Pink

For Keagan's party this year we did a Pinkalicious theme.  It was so much fun.  8 little girls, all in pink, pink decorations, pink prizes, pink cupcakes.  PINK!
the birthday girl, waiting for her friends to come
we started by coloring a cupcake page and a Pinkalicious page until all the girls got there.

Then we read "Pinkalicious."  The girls sat so good.  They all wanted to hold a baby doll.  Yes, Keagan has enough baby dolls so all 8 girls got one.

We did "pin the star on the wand."

we painted the girls fingernails pink.
We did a prize ball.  It took me 2 hours to make, and about 10 minutes for the girls to unroll it.

and pink cupcakes!

It was such a great party, and I think the birthday girl had fun!
Parker ordered this fancy cake for us to eat on Keagan's real birthday, which was Sunday.  He got home Saturday night after she was asleep, so she woke up and saw it.  She was so excited!

happy birthday, cha-cha-cha!

Yesterday was my birthday. It started awesome, with the kids letting me sleep in til 10. Then I got up and there was a message on the answering machine--from the pedicure place I like saying I had a gift certificate from my mother-in-law to come pick up. Score!

My mom called and said my sisters were going to her house for lunch, so I packed up the kids and we went over for the afternoon.

Parker took me to dinner at a nice French restaurant. So yummy, and it was one of those places where the food is so pretty, you aren't sure if you want to eat it and ruin it. We started with mussels for an appetizer and the hostess brought out a mushroom tarte for us to try for free. Awesome! Then Parker ordered the chef's famous meatloaf while I got the pork tenderloin. So good. The evening finished off with a birthday chocolate raspberry creme brulee (holy cow, good!) and we ordered the fanciest carrot cake I have ever seen. Parker always has to have milk when he is eating desserts, so he ordered a glass and the waitress laughed and said he was the first person she has ever heard of that ordered milk.

This isn't a very good picture of the carrot cake, but it was gorgeous! It was wrapped in a white and milk chocolate shell.

To finish off an awesome night, Parker got me a new camera and the kids were asleep when we got home.

(to come, pictures from my and the kids trip to California!)
