Happy Birthday Keagan!

2 years have come and gone since our fiery red-head joined us. It has been two years of laughing so hard at her silly antics, pulling my hair out at her stubbornness, and having my heart melt at her sweetness.

Our family of four. (I can't get over how little Easton is in this picture...younger than Keagan is now.)

Just home from the hospital.

Oh, Keagan, how I love you. You are a joy and the sunshine to my day....even when you are driving me crazy. I hope you will continue to be a strong, sweet, happy girl.

pumpkin patch

Easton's preschool had their first field trip yesterday. We went to the pumpkin patch.
Easton has been talking about it for a couple of weeks and he was so excited.
Listening to the lady say the rules.
Katelyn, Easton, Keagan
This was Easton's favorite part. The only way I can describe it is as a huge plastic pillow that you can bounce on. He loved it. Keagan liked it when I was holding her, but wouldn't attempt it on her own.

I think this picture is so funny. Easton being so dramatic.

our bi-monthly retreat

While up in PC this past weekend, we had to go to the park.
This digging toy takes such concentration.
(I catch myself doing the same thing when I am doing something hard--sticking out my tongue.)

The toy is obviously too big for Keagan, but she had to try it anyway.

Easton has developed a lot more confidence in himself lately and is becoming more willing to try things. I love it.

out and about

We decided we needed to get out and go to the park with Grandma and have a picnic.
It was a beautiful day and we loved it.

feeding the ducks

wading in the fountain

she loved it
yes, we did notice this after. hmmm...did it stop us? no.
We didn't swim...just a little wading.

a good chuckle

We went up to PC this weekend and during our Sunday dinner meal Easton decides to tell everyone... "I am big enough I can go pee-pee standing up!" He is extremely proud of himself.

Of course, he had to say it when it was a quiet moment, so no one could miss it.

Thanks, Easton, for the good chuckle.

primary

We had our Primary program yesterday in church and even though my children are not old enough to be up on the stand, I felt my heart surge with pride listening to the children say their memorized (or not-so-memorized) part and sing the songs. I don't know how it all sounded out in the congregation (I was sitting on the stand helping), but from where I was, it sounded wonderful. Even when the kids are more shouting than singing, it was so sweet.
and a big thanks to the family helping my poor husband with our two kids. I guess they both freaked out when I walked up front and the family behind Parker asked if they could help and took Keagan and the mom and the teenage daughter let her play with their makeup. She was in heaven. :)

another random fact....

Did you know....
ketchup can be used as a moisturizer.
yet again, thank you, Keagie, for another random fact.

the sandbox

We love getting free stuff, especially when it is a cool sandbox.
It is even fun when there is no sand in it yet.

But so much better when there is sand.

Easton squealed when he saw that Daddy had bought some sand for it today.
Keagan likes to dump it all over herself....
hmmm...where did it go?
So pretty.
My future heart breaker.
I am dreading to see what the bathtub looks like tonight....

preschool

This sweet boy had his first day of preschool today. I have been so excited for him (and me) all summer, but I admit after dropping him off and driving with Keagan to the store, the car was too quiet and I got a little emotional. He did great. I think he was a little nervous, but he was being so brave. I took him in and we found Katelyn, a friend's little girl, and he found some toys. I said goodbye and started leaving. As I was walking out the door with Keagan, he came running up the stairs and said, "I need to say goodbye to you Mom." He then gave me a hug and a kiss to Keagan and we left. No tears on either end. Good, right?
His cool backpack.

At Miss Stephanie's with a toy.
When I picked him up he was excited to show me his "magic" apple. We got home before we opened up the backpack, but his apple is a cutout of an apple that they got to scrape with sticks and the colors showed up after he scraped it. He thought that was so cool.
I can't believe he is in preschool, but I am excited for him to make some new friends and learn new things. Let's hope the rest of the year goes as smoothly as today!

my girlie girl

I found a new purse and a couple cute pairs of shoes at my friend Marina's shoe and purse party last week. By the time I got home the kids were asleep (thank you Parker!), but the next morning Keagan found my new things immediately. I think they passed the test, considering she thinks they are hers and I have to hide them in my closet.
I noticed that she is always in a diaper in pictures--she is the messiest eater and it is way easier to strip her down than have new jammies each night because she spilled breakfast all over them.
Of course, Easton had to get in on the picture action, so he got his Elmo boots.

storytime

Daddy doesn't always make it home before the kids go to bed, so when he does they get so excited.
Easton even sat through Cinderella!

girls

Some of my girls from high school had another get-together a couple of weeks ago. It is always so nice to get out and spend time with them.
Maren, Shannon, Lindsey, Marina, me
Maren, Audrey, Lindsey, Marina, me

me, Shannon, Maren

Shannon got out her pictures from high school and junior high. Oh, dear. We thought we were so cool--it was hilarious. Marina and I were looking at one of me and Linds and I was laughing so hard I was crying.
We missed a few of the local girls that couldn't come and of course, will always miss the out-of-towners.

cute, Keagan, cute.

When a not-quite-two-year-old picks out her own outfit...
this is what happens.
(big brother's underwear {clean, thank goodness} and a sweater.)
She put it all on herself, too. I did button the sweater after much whining from her, but she did the rest.
cute, Keagan.

Dancing

I was making dinner last night and had the radio on. Keagan came in and wanted to dance with me, so I danced for a few minutes with her and then asked Easton to come dance with her so I could finish dinner. They were giggling so much, it was so cute.
While they were dancing and giggling Easton said, "Mom, Keagan is falling in love."
I asked him with who....he said, "With me."
And yes, I think she was falling in love.
They were being extra affectionate last night.

These moments don't happen very often--but I guess that is why I appreciate them even more.

Family

Parker's sister, Carrie, and her family had a layover in SL a couple of weeks ago, so we decided we needed to have a barbque. I haven't seen Carrie and her family since Easton was a baby and they had never met Keagie--they live too far away--so it was so good to get together. We miss them being so far away and are begging them to move closer.
For some reason I didn't any other pictures.
