the goings on at our place...

*Today I took the kids to the library for story time and it was so nice. We had never been before and I would recommend it to anyone who is feeling the weight of winter on their shoulders. Easton is at such a fun age with stories and did really well. Keagan did pretty good, but got a little restless towards the end.
*Then after naps we went to the park and it was a little chilly, but we needed some outside time. I was pushing them on the swings, Keagie in the baby ones and Easton decided he wanted to be a big boy and be in the swing with no back. This was a huge surprise--especially since Easton can be very cautious. And then he started pumping! I didn't even know he knew how to do that!! What a brilliant kid. :) He looked so small in the big boy swing, pumping his legs, especially since his little bottom barely fits in the swing (due in part to no more diapers!!!!!!!!).
*Keagan decided a couple of days ago that she was finally ready to get up and go. She still crawls if she needs to go fast, but has started toddling around our house. It is so cute and I love watching her figure it out. Yes, she is 16 months. Slow, but better than her brother and her mother for that matter.... and look at us, we are pros at walking now! :)

the joys of hygiene

Keagan likes to bite -- not other people -- only my finger when I tried to brush her teeth with the little finger brush I had. Hence--a new pretty, pink toothbrush. What a big girl.
She was so excited and had to hold it the entire store trip and once we got home she had so much fun brushing her teeth--all by herself. (I don't let her do that when it is actually time to brush, otherwise her little teeth (all eleven of them!) wouldn't get clean.)

I got Easton a new one too. (that is water on his shirt, don't worry.)
I love this picture.

The joys of potty-training....

Easton: Mom, can you change me? (still wearing diapers)

Me: (while changing his diaper) If you go on the potty, I won't need to change you. Big boys go on the potty. Mommy and Daddy go on the potty.

Easton: Mom, I'm so proud of you!

Thank you, Easton, for being proud of me--even if it is for just being a 'big girl.'

Toddler Updates

I left the room for two minutes and came back to find this....
Easton likes to pull the cushions off the chairs and pretend he is the king (I have no idea where he came up with it) and Keagan loves it because then the chair is just the right height for her to climb on it.
I am not quite sure how Keagan got her shirt halfway off--probably with help from Easton.

I gave Keagan her first haircut last week. She was getting 'mullety'. Her hair reached all the way to her shoulders, but was thin at the bottom because it was her baby hair. While she was in the tub, I grabbed the bottom and chopped it. It was shorter than I wanted, but it looks cute.

This is Keagan's new favorite seat in the house. She climbs up and sits there like she is queen of the house.--she kind of is!

Yes, the bangs are still long, but I usually have a little elastic or clip in to keep them back--just not right before bed.

Happy Birthday Parker!

Happy birthday to Parker!! The big 3*0!
Thanks for being a great husband and daddy!
We love you!

Easton helping Daddy blow out his candles from his cake last night.
We surprised Parker at his office with some balloons. I asked Easton if we should take a Superman balloon to Daddy today and he said, "No." I asked him why and he told me, "Daddy wants a Star Wars balloon." So we got a Darth Vadar balloon instead.

Snow, snow, we love the snow!

So we have had snow for weeks, but I finally braved it yesterday with the kids. Mostly it was because I kept hoping for Parker to be home to stay indoors with Keagan, because I had forgotten that my sis-in-law had given me this snowsuit for Keagan. I am glad I remembered, because she had so much fun playing with us.
Before we braved the cold. Don't they look excited?
I pulled the kids around on the sled for a while and then I ran in to get my camera and came out to find Easton pulling his little sister.
They didn't get too far...
My little guy
My sweet, baby doll
Easton was trying to feed Keagan the snow.
I hope they will be good buddies when they get older!

Am I Ready?

Many, many years ago a small red-head didn't walk until she was 17 months.

A little over a year ago, a little blond boy didn't walk until he was 19 months.

Another little red-head is 15 months. Am I ready for her to be walking? (Not when I see the toddlers running in the halls and up and down the aisles at church)

With Easton, I honestly didn't mind him walking late. People probably thought I was crazy to not be worried that he wasn't walking yet. I knew he could do it if he wanted to, but he just wasn't ready. (my kids tend to be very cautious) He was never a big baby, so carrying him when I needed to wasn't a problem (even when I was 8 months pregnant) and he crawled around the house and got into anything on his level anyway. And I knew I was a late walker, so that added to my patience.

Keagan is a tiny bit more brave than her big brother, not much, but a little. Am I ready for her to be climbing, walking, running, and everything that comes with that? I don't know yet--will get back to you....... But, this is a cute video, so enjoy!

Naughty, Naughty Keagan!

Now let me start by saying the water is orange because we used some fun bath fizzies that Santa brought and the wall is multi colored from some bath paints from Santa.
I had just gotten Keagan out of the tub and lotioned her up, brushed her hair and put on nice warm jammies. I went to hang up her towel and came back to find this!
She was so pleased with herself. It was such a pain trying to peel the soaking wet jammies and diaper off of her.
Don't worry, she always turns into my little sweetheart. This is how she has been since Grandma and Buddy gave her this new baby for Christmas--she always has to be holding it.
Easton's new superman/batman cape. (I made it--well, the girl at Enrichment really made it--she saw me having major troubles with the sewing machine and jumped in to help me--but I did cut the fabric out!)
Check out the extreme bedhead!

Easton and George

Easton loves George and this is him opening his new George toy. He was so funny.

Christmas Eve and Morning = Craziness

Christmas Eve
at my folks house for the 2nd Annual Swedish Smorgasbord.
My aunt and uncle and their kids came this year, which was really nice, because half my family was gone to their in-laws.
My cute cousins, Taylor, me, Paige
Christmas Morning
Santa's elf, Jules, made this tutu for Keagan.
This was the first attempt to put it on her--doesn't she look excited?
She decided she liked it a little later.
Easton's new favorite friend, George. He loves George and Santa's elf found this on EBay and a couple of George books.
My two rock stars.
Oma and Opa sent this cute "ba-tar" to Easton. He loves it and loves it when Daddy gets out his so they can play together.

Can I sit down now???

So, this past week and a half has been so crammed with Christmas things to do, that I feel like Christmas should have happened a few days ago. But, we have had fun doing everything and I am so looking forward to Christmas morning with Parker and the kids.
Ward Christmas Party
Santa came at the very end and Easton was so excited because Santa knew his name. It was so cute. He kept telling me, "Santa said, 'You Easton,'!!!"
FHE at GG's and Grandpa Gordon's
On Monday night we went up to do a family night with my grandparents. We have tried to make this a tradition because they live a couple of hours away and we don't get to see them as often as we would like. I think they might rethink inviting us with the craziness of this year!
Saylem and Keagan -- Keagan usually just looks at Saylem, but is starting to take a hands on interest.
Naked Saylem and Keagan. Don't worry, Saylem is 10 months younger than Keagan and probably will catch up to her in a couple of months for weight!
Keagan and Buddy (my dad)
Shelley and Keagan (Keagan is pretending to blow a harmonica)
My cute Grandpa finishing his Christmas harmonica songs
Girl's Night
Tuesday all the girls went to Gardener Village. We left the boys at home (yipee) and it was so nice to go out without big boys. I think Keagan loved being without Easton--she loves him, but he demands a lot of attention. She was hilarious at dinner, she loved all the girls paying attention to her!
Me and Keagan, Ashley and Saylem (Go Moby Wraps!)
Sundberg Christmas Party
Wednesday we had a family party because Shell and Deven left on Friday for their Christmas.
Easton opening a present from Grandma and Buddy
Parker helping Keagan
Extended Sundberg Christmas Party
Last, but not least, we had a big family party last night, Sunday. We had dinner and then a little program and then Santa came!! It was so fun to see the little kids get so excited.
Santa's elf, Lollipop. (if you can see, check out her ears!)
These four were probably the cutest with Santa--the perfect age.
Gray (a little nervous), Gage, Easton, Halle
Keagan and Santa
She was not happy to sit on his lap--until he gave her a present...
Easton with Santa
He was so cute, he is so much fun this year with Christmas.
He tells everyone "Be happy, Santa's coming." My favorite, when I am getting mad at him for something--"Mom, be nice, Santa's coming." He also likes to tell Keagan all the time when she is sad about something. What is going to happen when Christmas is done....???

Breakfast With Santa!

My sister had extra tickets for Breakfast with Santa, so my mom took me and my sister and our little ones. It was so fun, kind of hectic, but worth it. Easton is at such a fun age with Christmas and he loved all the characters that were there.

At first he was nervous to see the Grinch--he was curious, but nervous. This was the first picture.
He warmed up pretty quickly. This picture was taken about twenty minutes later.

All the cousins with Santa.

Easton loved the Sugar Plum Fairy. He even danced with her.

Laura, Saylem, me and Keagan

He got Jack Skellington painted on his hand and wanted to show everyone--especially the Grinch.
