Last night Easton got to go to a basketball game with Grandma and Buddy, so Keagan had me and Parker all to herself. She loved it, of course.
She was getting out all the toys and shoes and boots....pretty normal for her.
It was bedtime and Parker told her to put the boots away. She looked at him and said, "I no want to." He told her she needed to put the boots away or go sit in the corner, thinking she would obviously choose the first.
She went and put herself in the corner and said, "I no want to." Parker starts laughing, which does not help the situation, she thinks she is being cute and funny (which she was) rather than naughty and stubborn (which she also was).
Twelve years from now should be interesting.

Easton, the fireman
Easton's class got to go to the fire station this past week and he was so excited! They talked about fire safety in the lesson before, so he thought he was an expert.
Each kid got a fire hat, sticker, and pencil.
(I took Keagan too, but she was scared in the bay where they keep the truck, so I almost wish I would have left her with her grandma.)

Fairyland
For Keagan's birthday I attempted to create a fairyland in our living room. (Daddy and Easton escaped to do "boy stuff," which means getting the car washed and a hair cut.) She had a few friends over and they got to be dusted with pixie dust and get wings, a wand, and a butterfly hair clip. I thought it turned out cute. The little girls were so excited, which makes it all worth it.
Aubrey, Macie, Haylie
Keagan wouldn't stand still for the group picture...but I thought it was so cute how all the girls were all pink. Very girly and sweet.
Cupcakes are the best if you shove a whole handful in your mouth, just so you know.
I have had this doll in our house for about a month now. My friend, Kristi, made it and I have been impatiently waiting for Keagan's birthday to give it to her. I love it.
Happy Birthday Keagan!
2 years have come and gone since our fiery red-head joined us. It has been two years of laughing so hard at her silly antics, pulling my hair out at her stubbornness, and having my heart melt at her sweetness.

pumpkin patch
Easton's preschool had their first field trip yesterday. We went to the pumpkin patch.
Easton has been talking about it for a couple of weeks and he was so excited.

a good chuckle
We went up to PC this weekend and during our Sunday dinner meal Easton decides to tell everyone... "I am big enough I can go pee-pee standing up!" He is extremely proud of himself.
Of course, he had to say it when it was a quiet moment, so no one could miss it.
Thanks, Easton, for the good chuckle.

primary
We had our Primary program yesterday in church and even though my children are not old enough to be up on the stand, I felt my heart surge with pride listening to the children say their memorized (or not-so-memorized) part and sing the songs. I don't know how it all sounded out in the congregation (I was sitting on the stand helping), but from where I was, it sounded wonderful. Even when the kids are more shouting than singing, it was so sweet.
and a big thanks to the family helping my poor husband with our two kids. I guess they both freaked out when I walked up front and the family behind Parker asked if they could help and took Keagan and the mom and the teenage daughter let her play with their makeup. She was in heaven. :)

preschool
This sweet boy had his first day of preschool today. I have been so excited for him (and me) all summer, but I admit after dropping him off and driving with Keagan to the store, the car was too quiet and I got a little emotional.
He did great. I think he was a little nervous, but he was being so brave. I took him in and we found Katelyn, a friend's little girl, and he found some toys. I said goodbye and started leaving. As I was walking out the door with Keagan, he came running up the stairs and said, "I need to say goodbye to you Mom." He then gave me a hug and a kiss to Keagan and we left. No tears on either end. Good, right?
At Miss Stephanie's with a toy.
When I picked him up he was excited to show me his "magic" apple. We got home before we opened up the backpack, but his apple is a cutout of an apple that they got to scrape with sticks and the colors showed up after he scraped it. He thought that was so cool.
I can't believe he is in preschool, but I am excited for him to make some new friends and learn new things. Let's hope the rest of the year goes as smoothly as today!
