RSV

Our RSV treatments look just like my treatments for pre-pneumonia when I was little. It seemed like every time I got a cold when I was little, I would have to do these breathing treatments so I wouldn't get pneumonia. The kids are doing well with them, but I have to keep reminding them to breath with their mouths and not their noses.

Easton went to preschool today and Keagan and I were able to go grocery shopping (the first time in a week and a half). And then we went for a walk to pick up Easton. I think I was more stir-crazy than the kids.

Easton is 4!

Well, another year has come and gone and Easton is 4. I can't believe he is that old, but yet sometimes he seems so much older and more mature than a four year old.
He has not had the best birthday today (in my opinion--I don't think he really notices it is weird). I took him to the doctor today because he has had a cough for a few days. RSV. Luckily, my mom has a nebulizer and we can do breathing treatments at home and won't have to take him to the doctor everyday. He did think it was cool doing the breathing treatment (he got to breath like a dragon). He had to miss preschool today and I guess he will for the rest of the week, so he didn't get to take cupcakes to share with his class, but his teacher said we could bring them when he is back.
Oh, my sweet Easton. You are a joy in my life and I am so grateful for you. You are a wonderful big brother (most of the time) and we love you so much. You are a sweetheart and I hope you will continue to be kind and caring to everyone.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY, EASTON!

Easton's Primary talk

Easton gave his first Primary talk last week and did so well. He was brave and did the whole thing with a little help from Mom. I was worried he would be like me and get too nervous to do it, but I guess he is more like his dad and public speaking is no problem for him.

The first principle of our religion is faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.

Jesus Christ is Heavenly Father's Son.

He created the heavens and the earth.

Even though he is God's Son, He suffered for all of us. He is our Savior. He suffered for us so we can be saved and live with Heavenly Father again. He suffered for us so we can live with our families forever. Because he died for us and was resurrected, we can be resurrected too.

President Gordon B. Hinckley shared his testimony once with some children: "Jesus is my friend. He is my exemplar. He is my teacher. He is my healer. He is my leader. He is my Savior and my Redeemer. His is my God and my King. Gratefully, and with love, I bear witness of these things."

I know that Jesus is my friend and I know that when I am sad I can think about Jesus and I don't need to be sad anymore.

I am so thankful for Jesus and I love Him and know that He loves me.

curly sue

We tried sponge curlers on Keagan a little while ago and she thought she was the prettiest thing in the world. The finished product didn't work quite like I wanted, but I used the smallest ones--the next time I did it I did the next two sizes up and it looked adorable. Of course, I didn't get a finish picture, but will try to remember next time.

sometimes I wish....

that I could be bluntly honest with strangers/acquaintances. For example, at the doctor today, he came in and asked, "Well, how we doing today?" I wanted to say, "Well, I don't know how you are doing--well, I assume, since you are at work. I, however, am not, but I would guess you understand that seeing as how I am in your office today and not at home." Instead I smiled politely and with my swollen, sore throat said, "I have been better."
Prognosis: strep throat.
Easton also has it, but isn't showing symptoms other than a yucky belly-button (weird, I know.).
Hopefully it will pass by Parker and Keagan and leave them alone.
They gave me a shot in the hip and now it hurts.
I think I will go to bed now.
Thank you to Parker, my mom and sister who have been huge helps.

when I get big...

After reading Easton the bedtime story "When I'm Big," which tells what baby animals such as tadpoles and caterpillars become when they are big, I asked him what he would be when he is big (thinking he would say big like Daddy) and he told me, "A grown-up. And then I can have Coke."
smart boy.

Keagan

The other day while I was in the kitchen doing dishes Keagan was in my room and found a box of tissues on my nightstand. She proceeds to shred up the tissues all over the house and refused to pick them up. (Can you tell she is two?) So, she went into timeout--where she proceeded to glare at me and sulk. She would get out of timeout, pick up one tiny piece of tissue and then start to play again. I kept telling her she needed to pick up all the tissues. "No! I no want to!" So, back to timeout. Finally when it was lunchtime she saw Easton eating and decided she had had enough of being stubborn and picked up the tissues.
Between Parker and I, she got way too much stubbornness.
(the tissues are now out of reach of little fingers.)

Easton, Easton

Lately when Parker and I check on Easton at night we find him laying on the ground against his door. We have to push the door and roll him away from it. I pick up a sleeping Easton and put him back in bed. Once he woke up during this time and I asked him why he was on the floor and he said, "I just wanted to watch your toes walk." How sweet is he?

inside my purse...

is nothing out of the ordinary, yet for some reason, every BYU game I have been to this year the security guy has checked inside it.
I see them let other women go past, but not me.
I can see them eye me out of the corner of my eye and they come quickly towards me and ask to see in my bag.
Apparently I look like someone who is going to smuggle in a weapon of some kind to the BYU games.

sleepy easton

The other night when checking on Easton we found this....

His feet were not quite touching the ground, but he was fast asleep.

Merry Christmas--a little late....

I finally got some family pictures done and Aynn sent me a couple early so I could get some Christmas cards done. I love them and can't wait to see the others.

gingerbread--the ghetto kind

We did gingerbread houses a couple of weeks ago for family night. Parker got all the stuff and when he pulled it out of the grocery bag, I admit I was skeptical. He got graham crackers and tub frosting. I knew the graham crackers would work, but I thought the tub frosting would be too soft. I was wrong and the house turned out great. The kids had so much fun, helping Daddy make the house and helping Mommy eat the candy.
When I asked Parker why he got more graham cracker (we have some in our cupboard) he told me the cinnamon kind that he got looked glittery. Good call, Parker.

The chocolate chimney has since melted from the sun coming in our dining room window and one side of the fence has been eaten by a certain two year old, who will remain nameless, who likes to climb up on the table when Mommy isn't looking and eat the "pretty canny (candy) house."

a fun easton moment

While getting Easton dressed for preschool, he looked over and saw Keagan eating breakfast in the kitchen. He said to me, "Oh, that is so cute. Mom, you need to get a picture of Keagan eating her breakfast. It is just so cute."

my favorite...

Keagan word--
Rell-ell-ell-ell-a
and yes, she does do the 'ell' that many times--at least
(Cinderella)
Another favorite--
Ma-jies
(Jammies)
I know she will correct her words eventually, but I think I will be sad when that happens. I love her little toddler speech.

police station

Last week Easton had a field trip with his preschool to the police station.
This is him and Katelyn outside waiting for everyone to get there.
He was being very shy and extremely attached to me that day, so I am glad that I dropped Keagan off at her cousin's house.

This is the only picture I have of him inside, because he was being ornery and didn't want to take pictures of leave my side. I wonder when my excuse of, "He is three, enough said," will not work anymore.....
He did like it when the officer turned on his lights and the siren in his car.

This is all the kids minus Easton.

temple lights

Parker's sister, Carrie, and her husband, Jeff, came into town the weekend after Thanksgiving. We got to join them up at the lights at Temple Square. So beautiful. Parker and I have tried to see the lights every winter since we met, but it just never happens, so this was his first time seeing the lights.
all bundled up
our little family
Lawton, Carrie, Parker
Jeff's mom, sister, and sister-in-law came with us and his sister, Kim, took this one of all of us.
It was cold, but so beautiful.
