Keagan

The other day while I was in the kitchen doing dishes Keagan was in my room and found a box of tissues on my nightstand. She proceeds to shred up the tissues all over the house and refused to pick them up. (Can you tell she is two?) So, she went into timeout--where she proceeded to glare at me and sulk. She would get out of timeout, pick up one tiny piece of tissue and then start to play again. I kept telling her she needed to pick up all the tissues. "No! I no want to!" So, back to timeout. Finally when it was lunchtime she saw Easton eating and decided she had had enough of being stubborn and picked up the tissues.
Between Parker and I, she got way too much stubbornness.
(the tissues are now out of reach of little fingers.)

Easton, Easton

Lately when Parker and I check on Easton at night we find him laying on the ground against his door. We have to push the door and roll him away from it. I pick up a sleeping Easton and put him back in bed. Once he woke up during this time and I asked him why he was on the floor and he said, "I just wanted to watch your toes walk." How sweet is he?

inside my purse...

is nothing out of the ordinary, yet for some reason, every BYU game I have been to this year the security guy has checked inside it.
I see them let other women go past, but not me.
I can see them eye me out of the corner of my eye and they come quickly towards me and ask to see in my bag.
Apparently I look like someone who is going to smuggle in a weapon of some kind to the BYU games.

sleepy easton

The other night when checking on Easton we found this....

His feet were not quite touching the ground, but he was fast asleep.

Merry Christmas--a little late....

I finally got some family pictures done and Aynn sent me a couple early so I could get some Christmas cards done. I love them and can't wait to see the others.

gingerbread--the ghetto kind

We did gingerbread houses a couple of weeks ago for family night. Parker got all the stuff and when he pulled it out of the grocery bag, I admit I was skeptical. He got graham crackers and tub frosting. I knew the graham crackers would work, but I thought the tub frosting would be too soft. I was wrong and the house turned out great. The kids had so much fun, helping Daddy make the house and helping Mommy eat the candy.
When I asked Parker why he got more graham cracker (we have some in our cupboard) he told me the cinnamon kind that he got looked glittery. Good call, Parker.

The chocolate chimney has since melted from the sun coming in our dining room window and one side of the fence has been eaten by a certain two year old, who will remain nameless, who likes to climb up on the table when Mommy isn't looking and eat the "pretty canny (candy) house."

a fun easton moment

While getting Easton dressed for preschool, he looked over and saw Keagan eating breakfast in the kitchen. He said to me, "Oh, that is so cute. Mom, you need to get a picture of Keagan eating her breakfast. It is just so cute."

my favorite...

Keagan word--
Rell-ell-ell-ell-a
and yes, she does do the 'ell' that many times--at least
(Cinderella)
Another favorite--
Ma-jies
(Jammies)
I know she will correct her words eventually, but I think I will be sad when that happens. I love her little toddler speech.

police station

Last week Easton had a field trip with his preschool to the police station.
This is him and Katelyn outside waiting for everyone to get there.
He was being very shy and extremely attached to me that day, so I am glad that I dropped Keagan off at her cousin's house.

This is the only picture I have of him inside, because he was being ornery and didn't want to take pictures of leave my side. I wonder when my excuse of, "He is three, enough said," will not work anymore.....
He did like it when the officer turned on his lights and the siren in his car.

This is all the kids minus Easton.

temple lights

Parker's sister, Carrie, and her husband, Jeff, came into town the weekend after Thanksgiving. We got to join them up at the lights at Temple Square. So beautiful. Parker and I have tried to see the lights every winter since we met, but it just never happens, so this was his first time seeing the lights.
all bundled up
our little family
Lawton, Carrie, Parker
Jeff's mom, sister, and sister-in-law came with us and his sister, Kim, took this one of all of us.
It was cold, but so beautiful.

pink is good

I painted my fingernails pink last night while the kids were asleep and when Keagan noticed them today she was so excited. She kissed every single nail. I should paint my nails pink more often.

big brother and little sister

This was a couple of days ago and they were actually playing well together (gasp!).
They were so excited to watch a movie on my iPod.

Parker Update

Update on Parker--we went into the family doctor on Thursday and the doctor thinks his rotator cuff might be torn, wants to keep an eye on it.

He sent Parker to a chiropractor that specializes in accident victims. He went on Friday and they did a deep tissue massage and then went again today and met with the chiropractor. The chiropractor said that he wants Parker to come in every day this week (sigh) except Thursday because his neck is so messed up right now. They will work on the back and shoulder later.

He has been going to work as much as he can, a few hours a day, but he seems to get tired a LOT quicker than normal. I keep telling him to take it slow, but it is driving him crazy. I told him if he messes himself up permanently, I will go crazy. :)

Slowly, but hopefully we will see results with the chiropractor.

We got the insurance money for our car and luckily we didn't have to haggle at all, they gave us what we thought the car was worth. Now, to find a new one....stay tuned!

Just like Daddy

Easton wants to be just like Daddy.

yesterday

Yesterday was an extremely long day.
Started out fine--normal or as normal as our house can get.
At 6:00pm the phone rings.
The man told me his name and what company he was with, but I couldn't hear him that well.
Then I heard the dreaded words.
"Your husband has been in an accident."
My heart stopped.
My body flushed and I was suddenly cold and clammy.
He followed quickly with, "He is okay, but we are taking him in the ambulance to the ER. Can you meet us down there?"
I tell Easton to quickly find his and Keagan's shoes because they are going to go to Grandma's.
I call my mom and, luckily, she is there.
I ask if I can bring the kids and she tells me she and my dad are on their way out to a basketball game, but Ashley will be there.
I tell her Parker has been in an accident.
Took the kids over and cried the whole way to the hospital.
I couldn't catch my breath.
My heart was beating way too fast and the car in front of me was driving way too slow.
I get there and find him like this.
Strapped to a backboard, with a neck brace on.
He was talking and moving his limbs, which calmed me somewhat.
The nurse leaves the room and I tear up.
Parker looks at me the best he can with the neck brace on and tears up.
Then we wait. Lots and lots of waiting.
Parker's brother, Lawton, came down and called Parker's friend, Troy, to come.
Troy got there and they gave Parker a priesthood blessing.
We all talked for a while and then Troy left around 9:00pm.
They did a CT scan. We waited for the results.
Then they did an MRI. We waited for the results.
Our friends, Enoch and Alayne, came down and sat with us for a while.
Lawton left shortly after the MRI.
Enoch and Alayne stayed until about 11:45pm.
We waited.
Then they decided on a shoulder xray because Parker's shoulder was hurting badly.
We waited for the results.
Finally a doctor came in and told us nothing was broken, no spinal cord damage, no nerve damage.
They gave us a sling and a prescription for some heavy duty pain killers and said to come back in a week.
The accident happened at 5:30pm.
We didn't get home until 2:00am.
Long night.
I went with my mom and the kids today to get pictures of the car and try to salvage anything I could.
We couldn't open the trunk or any doors besides the driver's door.
I am so thankful for this car because it is strong and hefty.
I can't imagine how Parker would be if it wasn't.
Parker's sister, Carrie, said Abbey (Parker's sister who passed away ten years ago in a car accident) had to have been there to watch out for him.
Looking at the pictures, I think she is right.

a pirate, a hat-less witch, and pumpkins!

Halloween has come and gone.
We did do pumpkins a few days before and the kids loved it.
Easton was a little hesitant to get the "guts" out of the pumpkin, but finally relented. He was excited to roast the seeds with me and helped me get the seeds out of the guts.
nice.

Keagan got to decorate her pumpkin/squash with a marker. She loved it.
(Apparently this is her new thing when I ask her to smile....I have about four of this face.)
Mmmm. Halloween donuts.

Just before going trick-or-treating.
Easton was a pirate and on request would say, "Argh, Matey!"
Keagan refused to wear her witch's hat, and anytime I asked her she would say, "No, hair." So, I curled her hair a bit and put glitter on her face and she was a pretty princess.

stubborn Keagan

Last night Easton got to go to a basketball game with Grandma and Buddy, so Keagan had me and Parker all to herself. She loved it, of course.

She was getting out all the toys and shoes and boots....pretty normal for her.
It was bedtime and Parker told her to put the boots away. She looked at him and said, "I no want to." He told her she needed to put the boots away or go sit in the corner, thinking she would obviously choose the first.

She went and put herself in the corner and said, "I no want to." Parker starts laughing, which does not help the situation, she thinks she is being cute and funny (which she was) rather than naughty and stubborn (which she also was).

Twelve years from now should be interesting.
